GWAR recently made its first Philly appearance with newest edition to the Scumdog squad- Vulvatron. As expected, the show was riot- featuring unrelenting amounts blood-squirts, brain-removals, heavy riffs, classic tracks, and all the other-worldly stage antics you can imagine and then some.
March 23rd marked a sad anniversary for the GWAR family, as it was the one year anniversary of founding member Dave Brockie‘s (Oderus Urungus) final journey to Valhalla. All hail Oderus! Forced to respond to recent allegations concerning Brockie’s ashes and more, a recent statement concluded, “Dave Brockie was our friend, peer, co-worker, and our family. We want to preserve the legacy of one of the greatest singers in rock and roll history. There is no “conspiracy,” no bad faith, no theft, no graft, and no ill will. We trust our fans will see through this, and we will be able to get back to work on the one thing we all know Dave Brockie loved; GWAR.”
GWAR recently announced the 6th Annual GWAR B-Q for Saturday, August 15th as the band celebrates an impressive 30th anniversary.
Rounding out the bill were the mighty Corrosion Of Conformity and support by American Sharks.
C.O.C. continues to tour in support of their impressive IX full-length released in 2014 via Candlelight Records. Decibel Magazine commenting, “COC stick to the recipe that served them well on both 2012’s self-titled reboot and the follow-up EP, Megalodon: A little hardcore, a little crossover, a whole lotta Southern rock and (especially) doom metal, all stirred, shuffled, layered and frosted in ways that make guessing their next move impossible.
